How to Embrace Uncertainty and Empower your Purpose with Systems

What if stress was your greatest resource for change?

We often talk about neuroplastic change in the brain requiring 2 things.

  1. Focus: our ability to drive attention towards something while also labeling the effort required for that change to be beneficial.
  2. Frustration: agitation of the status quo, our ability to do the hard thing when the easy thing is available. To change we must have self awareness so we can take inventory in where we are and allow our guiding principles to give us direction.

However, you may see an issue here. Change doesn't feel good and in a world filled with media that continues to tell us to "trust our gut" what do we do?

Do we trust our gut that is telling us this change isn't good?

OR

Do we willpower our way into a new version of ourselves?

This is a question that I dove into during our webinar (Click here to watch the replay)

I've come to understand that I gather the most information about myself through taking aligned action.

Here is my no-bullshit approach.

  1. Awareness: what do I notice in my life that I'm emotionally charged about? Nervous/excited or anything in-between.
    1. What is the environment that this manifests from?
    2. Is there a pattern?
    3. Is this feeling coming from novelty or resistance due to my values being negatively challenged?
  2. Alignment: When I notice the potential for change with this person, place, or idea, what do I NOT want it to turn into?
    1. Why?
    2. Clarity through contrast, what does your self-awareness of what you don't want to tell you about what you do want?
    3. What does that look into the future? What does it require you to focus on?
  3. Action: With clarity in hand, what does that new focus look like in a habit?
    1. How will you take action on this at a 1-5% interval within the next 8 hours?
    2. When will you take action? (SCHEDULE IT)

Now time for some hard truth, this system has worked for companies, parents, brothers, sisters and even my cat.

The hardest part is in accountability. Someone often needs to hold you to the standard of your creation and clarity.

This is why I recommend high quality friend, cohort and group programs that are heavy in support so that as you recalibrate your life there are touch points which will allow you to recalibrate without the shame of not taking action constantly being held as a motivational stick.

I'm biased that my group programs are awesome sauce and here's why.

  1. Researched and proven systems. My goal was to provide the most tactical information to help my people think differently about how they were showing up. Which means neuroscience, self-regulation, psychology, case studies, and business models rooted in supportive and sustainable systems.
  2. Accountability, we meet upto 3x per week to make sure that if you truly want the change you're saying you want that you get every ounce of it via workshops, community day, leadership development and live chats.
  3. Daily Touch Points. We have a live group chat that is keeping things rolling so that when you need support, it's there.
  4. History: We've been running this program for over five years now. While most group programs have a season and then fizzle, we just keep going and developing.

By the way if you didn't know I'm doing something I've never done before.

If you're curious and want to sign up for our cohort (details below) I'm adding in 3x bonuses.

Executive functioning really means learning to better manage our stress, and here are the three things I want us to focus on to level it up: Overwhelm Management (Time Management + Routine) We have to learn to deal with overwhelm, which means managing time effectively. Our brain loves certainty, predictability, and familiarity that comes from routines and schedules. And yes — a schedule can feel boring and mundane. That’s why we must build novelty into the schedule. Curiosity and play are the...

Going to ruin the surprise straight out of the gate. The cure to stress is curiosity and play. Can't stop over thinking? Default mode network kicked into over drive? You need more data, ask more questions. Focus from asking those questions will drive more activation in the PFC. Anxious? Depressed? Go for a walk, a bike ride. Or if you're brave enough find some swings and go full rocketship mode. Self Conscious about rocketship mode in front of people? Overthinking your ability to play? Ask...

Hello Everybody, Time to shed some light on the "dopamine detox" that seems to constantly be going around the internet. Most people are getting sucked into these dopamine detox programs and ideas without knowing what's is actually going on or why it might not be necessary at all. >>SHORT CUT: I rocked a youtube video on this if you prefer that formate (CLICK ME)<< The truth is that we don't need a dopamine detox, we need to re-learn association. 🙋♂️ "Cool, cool... so I know what that means,...
